7th SURF Workshop

The Science Union for river basin Researches and Friends (SURF) organises an international workshop annually for the following purposes:


  1. knowledge and information sharing on recent advances in the general researches and management of river basin systems;
  2. technical exchanges and capacity building for young researchers and professionals;
  3. networking for future collaborations for researches and event organizing.

We warmly welcome all young researchers, professionals, managers and policy makers to participate in the 7th SURF Workshop to discuss on  the topics falling within the scope of:

Hydrological Management, Water Resource and Management, Water Quality and Health Related Aspect, Environmental Technology and Current Environmental Issues.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Important Dates:
Deadline for 2-page extended Abstract Submission : 22nd May 2019 7th June 2019

Deadline for Author Notification : 15th June 2019 22nd June 2019

  • 2-page extended Abstract template can be downloaded via,
  • 2-page extended Abstracts are to be submitted to Dr. Thushara Wickramaarachchi, Chief Secretary at thushara@cee.ruh.ac.lk
  • The author’s name, place of study/ work, and current residential address must be clearly stated together with workshop topic and excursion (registered or non-registered).
  • Following the Abstract reviewing process, only 30 presenters will be selected.
  • The ‘Best Presenter Awardee‘ will be selected based on the quality of the Abstract and Presentation.

  • Financial supports are NOT provided for the participants to attend the workshop (except for the ‘Best Presenter Awardees’ of the 6th SURF Workshop 2018).

Unawatuna beach,next to Galle on the island’s south coast, is rated one of the best beaches in the world and is famous for its natural beauty and intimacy.


EXCURSION

One-day field trip will be organized on 20th September 2019.
